WEBMASTER VOLUNTEER/INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

ECO-UNESCO is looking for a webmaster to help assist with the maintenance and development of our new website.
This is great opportunity to gain valuable work experience, showcase your skills and at the same time contribute to raising awareness about environmental issues.
Requirements:
• experience customising Joomla! templates essential
• experience using dreamweaver or similar
• experience of designing and creating web site visuals
• excellent understanding of content management systems
• be flexible, creative and willing to work as part of a team
• be able to meet deadlines
• have an interest in the environment/young people
Responsibilities include:
Liaising with ECO-UNESCO communications officer throughout project, making edits as required
Customising look and feel of new ECO-UNESCO website
Assisting with maintenance of website as necessary
Working on other changes to content as necessary
Assisting with Search Engine Optimisation

DESIGN VOLUNTEER/INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

ECO-UNESCO is looking for an experienced graphic designer to work on our ECO-Community Garden resource.
This is great opportunity to gain valuable work experience, showcase your creativity and at the same time contribute to raising awareness about environmental issues.
Requirements:
• Have experience in designing print-ready material
• Be flexible, creative and willing to work as part of a team
• Be able to meet deadlines
• Have an interest in the environment/young people
• Have your own computer & design software (ECO-UNESCO can provide office space or you can work from home)
Responsibilities include:
• Designing resource using text and images provided
• Liaising with ECO-UNESCO communications officer throughout project, making edits as required
• Working on other design projects/updating previous designs as needed

VOLUNTEER EVENTS ASSISTANTS & PHOTOGRAPHERS
ECO-UNESCO is looking for volunteers to work as Event Assistants at our Youth for the Future Conference 2010 on Wednesday 22nd September.
Youth for the Future is a conference which explores working with young people on sustainability issues. It is aimed at youth workers, teachers, young people and educators from community organisations and NGOs.
The conference is an opportunity to share examples of good practice in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), particularly in non-formal education. Environment, development, economics, sustainability, inclusion, justice, cultural diversity and other aspects of ESD will be explored.The event will be held in the Greenhouse, 17 St Andrew Street, Dublin 2.
This is great opportunity to gain valuable work experience and contacts, and at the same time contribute to raising awareness about environmental and sustainability issues. All volunteers will receive training about what the day entails and their specific roles. Volunteering for this event can lead to possibilities of volunteering at other ECO-UNESCO events and activities.
Responsibilities include:
· Assisting with setup and takedown of conference
· Assisting with catering of refreshments
· Assisting with workshops and preparing conference materials
· Liaising with guests and interacting with young people
Event Assistants must be:
· Over the age of 18 years
· Available for the full day on Wednesday 22nd September 2010 (9.00-6.00)
· Available for two hours of training in Dublin prior to the event
· Self-motivated, hard working and energetic
· Interested in the environment and/or young people
NOTE: We are also looking for volunteer photographers to document the day (full brief will be provided)
