FETAC Accredited Modules

ECO-UNESCO is an accredited FETAC centre operating under the qualities and standards set out by FETAC, the National Awarding Body. ECO-UNESCO offers courses in the areas of sustainable development, environmental education and youth and community development and is open to all interested in availing of flexible accreditation that can be used to enhance their learning experience and their professional development.

ECO-UNESCO is the leading provider of the flagship training course: Sustainable Development (FETAC Level 5 L22380).  ECO-UNESCO designed and developed the module in 2005 and has run the course with over 1000 students across Ireland.  ECO-UNESCO has become widely acknowledged as an expert training organisation in sustainability in Ireland. 

 

Progression Paths – How can I use my FETAC accreditation?

ECO-UNESCO’s Sustainable Development FETAC Level 5 L22380 can be used as a foundation course for many FETAC Major Awards.  Participants on ECO-UNESCO’s FETAC Sustainable Development module can use their accreditation for a variety of other FETAC major awards including community development among others.

  

 

ECO-UNESCO's Introduction to Sustainable Development (FETAC Accredited Module - L5) 

The course develops an understanding of concepts such as sustainability, quality of life, sustainable communities and carrying capacity. 

ECO-UNESCO's New Community Development Course (FETAC Accredited Module - L3)

The course develops an understanding of community development, develops skills in critical thinking, systems thinking and problem solving and practical analytical skills and develop facilitation and communication skills.

ECO-UNESCO's Peer Education for Sustainable Development (leading to a FETAC L5 minor award in Peer Education)

The course explores peer education principles and education for sustainable development. It promotes active citizenship through peer education and education for sustainable development. Participants will be equipped with knowledge, skills and competence in delivering and facilitating a peer education programme.
