EDUCATION AND TRAINING PROGRAMME INTERNSHIP

ECO-UNESCO is offering an Education and Training Programme Internship position. The ideal internship period is 6 months; however, the period of internship is flexible and shorter as well as longer periods will be considered. The position is located in The Greenhouse ECO-UNESCO's head office in Dublin 2.

The successful candidate should have the following qualities:

• Be self-motivated, energetic, positive and creative.
• Have an ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
• An interest in areas related to Education & Training, Community/Sustainable Development
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Experience dealing with funding applications/research desirable

Responsibilities include:
Assist with daily Education & Training programme tasks, including, but not limited to:

• Follow-up activities (participant analyses, monitoring & evaluation system etc.)
• The ongoing (re)development of accredited & non accredited education & training programmes
• ECO-UNESCO as FETAC accredited centre.
• The development of education and training resource materials.
• Administrative & office tasks - Conduct research on funding opportunities

Volunteer Illustrator

ECO-UNESCO - VOLUNTEER ILLUSTRATOR REQUIRED

We are seeking an artist to provide inspiring illustrations for our 'Peer Education for Sustainable Development' resource pack.

The illustrator will receive full accreditation in all print and online editions of the resource pack and a work reference from ECO-UNESCO if desired.

The new resource accompanies our Irish-Aid funded Youth for Sustainable Development Programme, including our own peer education programmes that address sustainable development and global justice.

We want to celebrate and promote peer education as an important pathway to personal development and youth empowerment. The pack will be used by young people who want to become peer educators and also by the adults who support them to build a more just, sustainable communities. It will be full of activities, action ideas, case studies and practical advice on how to become a peer educator for sustainable development. It is important to us that this pack is useful and appealing to young people aged 15-18, youth workers and other support workers. Any illustrations we include must be visually stimulating, accessible and be fully integrated with the content of the resource.

Note: This is an unpaid position.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
ECO-UNESCO is looking for an Administrative Assistant Intern. Internships are full-time, and ideally offered for a period of 6 months, however, the internship period is flexible and shorter as well as longer periods will be considered. The position is located in ECO-UNESCO’s head office in Dublin 2.

This is great opportunity for you to gain valuable work experience and at the same time contribute to raising awareness about environmental issues among young people.

The successful person should be available to start as soon as possible.

The successful candidate should have the following qualities:
• Be self-motivated, energetic and detail oriented
• Have an ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Exceptional communication skills
• Exceptional organisational skills
• A professional phone manner
• An interest in the environment and / or young people
• A good working knowledge of MS Office including word, excel and Access
• An interest in databases and information management


Responsibilities include:
Assist with daily administrative tasks, including, but not limited to:
• Answering phones, taking messages, responding to enquiries, post in and out, etc.
• Assist the National Director’s Personal Assistant with research projects, data management, etc.
• Assist the Office Administrator in managing our volunteer and internship programmes.
• Liaise with the Communications Officer in regards to managing, improving and implementing a new membership programme.

COMMUNICATIONS/YOUNG ENVIRONMENTALIST AWARDS Intern
ECO-UNESCO is looking for a Communications/Young Environmentalist Awards Intern. The period of internship is flexible and shorter as well as longer periods will be considered. The position is located in ECO-UNESCO's head office in Dublin 2.

This is a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience and at the same time contribute to raising awareness about environmental issues among young people.

The successful candidate should have the following qualities:

· To assist with the implementation of ECO-UNESCO’s PR plan
· To assist with the promotion of ECO-UNESCO’s core work areas / programmes
· To assist with the coordination of ECO-UNESCO’s participation in external events and exhibitions
· To assist with the organisation of ECO-UNESCO’s launches and promotional events
· To assist with ECO-UNESCO’s publications design and printing processes
· To assist with the coordination of the Young Environmentalist Awards Programme

Direct Youth Work Assistant Intern
ECO-UNESCO is looking for a Direct Youth Work Assistant Intern to start as soon as possible. Internships can be either full or part time, and the ideal internship period is 6 months; however, the period of internship is flexible and shorter as well as longer periods will be considered. The position is located in ECO-UNESCO's head office in Dublin 2.

This is great opportunity for you to gain valuable work experience and at the same time contribute to raising awareness about environmental issues among young people.

The successful candidate should ideally have the following qualities:
· Be self-motivated, energetic and creative.
· Have an ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
· An interest in the environment and / or young people
· Have experience in event management (desirable)
· An interest in learning about workshops facilitation for young people
· Excellent communication skills
· Excellent organisational skills

Responsibilities include:
Assist with daily tasks, including, but not limited to:
· Help with the promotion of the programmes and events (email shot, distributing leaflets, phone calls, etc.)
· Brainstorm ideas
· Research
· Preparing materials
· Accompany and assist the facilitator at youth activities and workshops
· Follow-up activities (participants analysis, evaluations, quotes, photos, etc.)
· Assist in administrative tasks (includes general office duties: answering phones taking messages, responding to enquiries, etc.)
